I have one class set of Rick Riordan's The Lightning Thief, but I teach two preps of Language Arts. You will read this mostly in class. If you get behind, then you must sign out the book from me. Remember our discussion concerning lost, forgotten, or damaged materials.
We will be slowly analyzing this text both as an introduction into Greek mythology, and as a text that allows for a close read. That being said, we will spend close to ten weeks with Riordan's novel. I will pace the class to allow for struggling readers extra time to keep up and as an opportunity to challenge fast readers. Sometimes reading fast is not really reading. Let's have fun with the mythology of Greece and maybe, just maybe, learn something new.
